New Cactus Blossom was in my yard while still living in Scottsdale, AZ. I saw it as soon as I looked out the window while drinking my first cup of coffee one morning. I photographed this blossom since I new they do not last during the day. I painted it from a sketch I made an then photographed and used those as a reference to paint this 9x12 inch oil on a linen panel.
